Assessment Summary
The purpose of this assessment plan is to ensure that students are learning the necessary material for this and future units. This map shows the entry level, formative and summative assignments that will be used in determining students success in mastering the material. These assessments will not only help me to determine if you are learning the necessary information about people, places and events but to determine if you are learning the larger concepts of how and why this and other events occurred.

Summative Assessment
Directions:
In this assignments students will be divided into the three different Estates that made up French society. The students will be given the opportunity in class over several days to determine their positions and then craft arguments for their positions and against the other two Estates positions. On the fifth day we will have our forum. This is your opportunity to argue the positions that never got argued because of the Third Estate being locked out of the assembly hall. On this day each Estate will turn in a group paper with the list of your team, the positions you will be arguing, and any possible rebuttals to the others Estates positions. This assignment is not only beneficial to understanding the causes behind the French Revolution but insight into how our own legislative process occurs in both the House of Representatives and the Senate. Below is the rubric that you will be graded upon. This is a group activity and everyone's participation is required. I hope you have fun in preparing for and during the debate.
